A total lunar eclipse, i.e., a ‘blood moon’, will occur on the night of Sept 7th and stretch into the early morning hours of Sept 8th. It is estimated that 87% of the world’s population (i.e., 7 billion people) will be able to witness at least part of the event, with 60% being able to witness the entirety of the eclipse.
This event will be clearly visible in:
- China
- Russia
- Across Central Asia
- India
- Western Australia
- Eastern Africa
The blood moon is estimated to last for a total 82 minutes, making this the longest eclipse since 2022. This coupled with the large scale of people able to watch it makes this total eclipse a very rare event.

This upcoming blood moon is the 2nd of 3 blood moons, with the first falling earlier this year in the 3rd month, and the last falling in the 3rd month 2026. Biblical prophecy experts say that lunar eclipses (blood moons) are tied directly to events that affect Israel. Note the ongoing wars in Israel, i.e., the Israel-Gaza war, and in the 6th month, the Israel-Iran war (i.e., also known as the 12-Day-War).
NB: A Solar Eclipse will occur on Sept 21st 2025.
